Doves are large birds that tend to feed on the ground under feeders. When trying to attract doves to your feeders, make sure they have a large space to perch. Tray or hopper feeders are ideal. Doves will eat smaller seeds like millet, sunflower hearts, safflower, and cracked corn. Mourning Doves will nest on platforms and in trees and shrubs. Adding a nesting perch in a covered space like under the eaves of a house can encourage these birds to nest in the yard.
