Goldfinches can be found in Upstate New York year-round. In the spring and summer months Goldfinches are known for their bright yellow plumage, and in the fall and winter their feathers are a dull yellow. Nyjer seed, or our finch favorite in a nyjer seed feeder is the best way to attract these birds to your yard.

They will also eat black oil sunflower seed, and sunflower hearts. While, Goldfinches do not nest in houses, they can be enticed to nest nearby by putting out a nesting ball.
