Blue Jays are in the crow family – no wonder why they seem so smart! The best way to attract Blue Jays to you yard is with a feeder that offers peanuts, especially peanuts in the shell. Peanuts in the shell can be provided in a tray, hopper, or specially designed peanuts in the shell feeder. A feeder with a lot of perching room is ideal for Blue Jays so they have plenty of space to land. Blue Jays will also eat black oil sunflower, sunflower hearts, and suet.
