Hike with Jack Butler

Thursday, April 30, 2026: Durand Eastman Park Hike with Local Author Jack Butler.

This walking tour of Durand Eastman Park covers the area around where Durand’s home and the Zoo were, goes down to where the Beach House was, crosses over to the “White Lady Ghost” Castle, then walks along the west side of Durand Lake on trails and board-walks before returning to our cars via Log Cabin Road.

2 hours and 2 mile.  Must be physically fit.   Trails, hills and beach.

Meeting point: About 0.7 of a mile down Zoo Road, off Lake Shore Blvd, on the right side is a parking lot by the Magnolia Collection. Go PAST the Parks Department garage half way down Zoo Road.
