Telescope Night at White Haven

Tonight, Thursday, October 16th is our last Telescope Night for the year. Join The Bird House for a relaxing evening observing the night sky from 6-8pm.

At our upcoming telescope night, we’ll have a great opportunity to observe some stunning celestial objects. Saturn will be a highlight of the evening, with its iconic rings clearly visible through the telescope. Depending on the sky conditions, we may also spot a few of its moons. In addition to Saturn, we’ll look for deep-sky objects like the Andromeda Galaxy and various nebulae, such as the Ring Nebula in Lyra or the Dumbbell Nebula in Vulpecula. These glowing clouds of gas and dust are beautiful examples of the life cycle of stars and are best seen under dark, clear skies.

Come out and let’s learn about our night sky together! Telescopes and lawn chairs are encouraged.

White Haven Memorial Park is located at 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford, NY 14534. Meet by the All Seasons Chapel in the back of the park. Look for The Bird House van!
