The Bird House Celebrates 30 Years!
In April of 2024, The Bird House celebrated 30 years in business. To celebrate, we did a lot at the shop!
We kicked off 30 years by hosting Stan Tekiela in town. Stan gave his fantastic talk about owls to a big crowd, led a bird walk, and gave a book signing at the store. It was great to have him and we can’t wait to invite him back!
During the week of April 15th, we gave out 400 Bird House mugs with every purchase while supplies lasted. We hosted five different non-profit organizations throughout the week, and 10% of that day’s sales went to that organization. Thank you to Burroughs Audubon Nature Club, Rochester Birding Association, Braddock Bay Bird Observatory, Braddock Bay Raptor Research and Wild Wings for joining us in the celebration!
We also reached out to some of our vendors to see if they had anything they could donate to raffle off for our customers, and boy did they deliver! Thanks to our vendors, we were able to offer hundreds of items as giveaways to our customers. Every person who came into the store the week of April 15th was given 10 raffle tickets- no purchase necessary. They could come in each day if they wanted to to get 10 more tickets and some did!
We want to thank all of our vendors who made this event such a success! We had over 130 happy winners who were able to get a mix of prizes and gift baskets. We thought we would share with you some of the photos from the week of events. Thank you to all who were involved, especially the wonderful Bird House staff members who solicited gifts, arranged the raffle and our customers who made the last 30 years possible!
