Jeffersonian Drum Thermometer (Fahrenheit – Living Finish Brass)

This unique Jeffersonian Collection Drum Thermometer uses a large, protected bimetal coil that provides an accurate reading, even in full sunlight.

As the bimetal coil expands with warmer temperatures and contracts with colder temperatures, the coil causes the brass drum to turn until the large numbers align with the aluminum pointer to indicate the current temperature in degrees Fahrenheit (Celsius Drum Thermometer (#T27CLFB) sold separately).

The Drum Thermometer is made of solid brass and aluminum. Within a few months exposure to the elements, the brass finish will begin to age gracefully and develop a mellow patina. This aging process is what we call “Living Finish Brass.”
