DESCRIPTION:The Bird House Photo Contest is On! \n\nSubmissions will be accepted starting Monday\, August 10th through Sunday\, September 20th..\nCustomers choice voting starts Monday\, September 21st and ends Sunday\, September 27th.\nWinners will be announce on Tuesday\, September 29th.\n\nCategories: \n\nBirds\nWildlife (other than birds)\nScenery\nPet\n\nIf your photo would fit in more than one of these categories\, photographer must pick one\n\n\n\n\nYouth \n\nPhotos taken by youth ages 16 and under\, in any of the first four categories\n\n\n\n\nBird House Elite\n\nThis category is designed especially for previous winners and those with a competitive drive.  Go head to head with the best!  This category is for anyone who has won via professional judging in The Bird House photography contest in the past five years\, (youth is excluded) or who wants to compete with previous winners\n\n\n\n\nLegends Listeners\n\nWe Have teamed up with Legends 102.7 for this special listeners category. SUMMARY:Nature Hike with The Bird House - Lehigh Valley Trail
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, September 13th\, 2026 from 9am to 10am: Nature Hike with The Bird House. Join Bird House Staff member Cassidy as she leads a nature walk on the Lehigh Valley Trail. If you don’t like walking alone this walking group will be just your type of thing! The walk will begin at Lehigh Valley Trail at Rochester Junction on Plains Road. We will definitely be looking and listening for birds\, but the main focus of our nature walks are just to take in the fresh air and enjoy the scenery with a group of fellow walkers. \nThe walk will be 30 min to an 1 hour depending on the pace of the group. Cassidy will make sure to walk at a pace that is comfortable for everyone. The walk is about 1-2 miles\, but completely flat and relatively short to complete. There is also a lot of historic signage about the train depot along with an entire trail as well as some artifacts being overtaken by nature – like a whole boxcar! \nThis event is free but RSVP is required.  This will help Cassidy have an idea of how many people are attending. \nThere is parking on both sides of the road when you arrive at the trail head.
