The Bird House Staff Holiday Party The Bird House Staff at Bird Feeder Cleaning Day!
The Bird House has satisfied my love for entrepreneurship in a business which adds to the quality of life in our community. I am pleased to be able to offer our customers an enjoyable shopping experience while enhancing their love of nature. Our continuing focus on superior customer service and a growing selection of bird, garden and gift items is a challenge but a rewarding experience.
Cassidy is one of the friendliest college students you’ve probably met! She works hard at keeping us organized and is enjoys learning about birds and sharing her knowledge with others.
Carole was director of an Environmental Education Resource Center for over 15 years. She enjoys imparting her knowledge to help bird enthusiasts. Carole sings in the Rochester Oratorio Society and she enjoys birding, gardening, kayaking and spending time with her family.
Connie is not only a bird lover but a technology wiz as well. She helps keep us up and running and supplies us with much needed comic relief! She enjoys learning about attracting new birds to her feeders and spends her free time gardening. You may even see her working outside the Bird House!
Don loves helping people! He thrives on helping to solve problems and making sure you find just the right item you’re looking for. When not at the Bird House, he works his other job and spends time with his lovely wife and beautiful daughter.
Kim is not only a hard worker but so friendly and knowledgeable! She has a great love for all animals and is an invaluable resource for information. She will go out of her way to help you anyway she can!

Michelle has always been a lover of the great outdoors and animals. She enjoys spending time in her yard watching birds (especially blue jays) and learning more about birds and ways to attract them. She can usually be found in the bird feeder repair room or playing with the fairy garden!
Patti, our Assistant Manager, has an electrical and mechanical design background. She can problem solve almost anything!! She enjoys birding, hiking, fishing, and relaxing in the Thousand Islands. When home she spends her time gardening with her husband and playing with their three awesome rescue bunnies.
Rich has been a customer of The Bird House since he moved to the area seventeen years ago! He remembers seeing a Help Wanted sign on the door one day and thinking, “This would be a fun place to work.” How right he turned out to be!
He is proud to be part of a superb team of people who are committed to helping customers enjoy birds and gardens. Our main tasks, solving problems and providing caring service, are inherently interesting and rewarding. He enjoys the variety of interacting with customers, unpacking new merchandise, doing repairs, creating displays, packaging seed, organizing back stock, and so on. He did much of the work of our recent expansion, with a lot of help; he is often called upon to reach things that are up high; and is our go-to Shelf Guy.
Earlier in Rich’s life he was a teacher and administrator. When not at the store, he is now an adjunct professor at MCC and also works in the Testing and Assessment Office there. He and his wife Janet are getting used to being empty nesters and the grandparents of two of the cutest little girls ever. They live in Bushnell’s Basin with their two elderly cats, Scamp and Scout. They love the outdoors and gardening – and all four of them are avid backyard birders.
Sabrina lives with her husband and two beautiful girls, who keep her pretty busy! She loves spending time in her yard and is an avid bird lover.
Steve is a native of Pittsford and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Syracuse University who subsequently went off to Minnesota for twenty-five years, during which he worked as a map-maker, a people manager, and a web and software techie, mostly in fast-moving, very creative start-up environments. He’s now landed at The Bird House where he enjoys working with all the nice people who enjoy birding and the outdoors. As an owner of five different bird feeders himself, Steve’s busy learning all he can (and always will be), so that you can rely on him to do his best to understand your bird-related needs and then help you find what you’re after, here at The Bird House!
Trish is a teacher’s assistant and also volunteers her time at Tinker Nature Park. As an avid backyard birder, Trish is great at answering any of your birding questions! When not at the Bird House, she loves keeping in touch with her five grandchildren.
STAR – Star is our store cat. Make sure you take a minute to say hi to him the next time you visit!
